There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus. Gal. 3:28 Summer Blessings to All! Yes, summer does seem to be here, at least most of the time…. We are entering the time of summer holidays, being that some of us go away from home and maybe some coming or going home or at least to their roots. We may see visitors in our midst, some familiar faces, some perhaps total strangers popping in for a worship service or two. How do we welcome these visitors? What can we do to make them feel at home? Do we want people to be with us, if they are different? What happens when someone does something different from what we are doing? We all experience our connection to God in a different way. And I’m pretty certain God is very okay with that. Is there a right way to pray or sing or sit or stand during the service? Worship services have evolved over the past 2000 years in many ways. Who can sa...

Pastor Matti is leading the Confirmation Class. Blessed May to everyone! Pentecost is just around the corner – a time to sing Happy Birthday to the church!! We get to wear red to celebrate the special day! Come Holy Spirit - come like a wind to inspire us to new beginnings without forgetting the past! During the time after Pentecost the colour is green – just like the grass that is just coming alive again, like the trees pushing out the new leaves in beautiful shades of greens. The nature comes alive!! What a perfect time to reflect on our church and how to bring new life – not only to our church, but how to take this new life outside the four walls of our church building! Here are three other areas to think about: Youth ministry – we need to support our youth and young adults.  Our mission – this is an important aspect of any organization and as a church we need to really ask ourselves at least these three questions in today’s context: Who are we? Who do we want to be? W...

Läpi lukkojenkin Herra Jeesus tulla voi. Kuolleista hän noussut on. (Virsi 104)   Rakkaat ystävät, Pääsiäisen riemu on takanapäin, vai onko? Tuntuu joskus siltä, että kun hiljainen viikko ja pääsiäinen on ohi, alkaa ”normaaliaika”. Meillähän on kuitenkin pääsiäinen aina, Jeesus on ylösnoussut! Halleluja! Miksi siis pelkäämme? ”Yhtäkkiä Jeesus seisoi heidän keskellään ja sanoi: ’Rauha teille!’” (Joh. 20:19) Rauha teille! He pelkäsivät henkensä edestä, nyhjöttivät huoneessa lukkojen takana. Mitä me pelkäämme? Meillä on omat pelkomme itse kullakin, oli se sitten itsemme tai omaistemme puolesta, henkilösuhteista, työpaikasta, kod...
