Blessed May to everyone!

Pentecost is just around the corner – a time to sing Happy Birthday to the church!! We get to wear red to celebrate the special day! Come Holy Spirit - come like a wind to inspire us to new beginnings without forgetting the past!

During the time after Pentecost the colour is green – just like the grass that is just coming alive again, like the trees pushing out the new leaves in beautiful shades of greens. The nature comes alive!!

What a perfect time to reflect on our church and how to bring new life – not only to our church, but how to take this new life outside the four walls of our church building!

Here are three other areas to think about:

• Youth ministry – we need to support our youth and young adults. 
• Our mission – this is an important aspect of any organization and as a church we need to really ask ourselves at least these three questions in today’s context: Who are we? Who do we want to be? Who do we serve? 
• Diversity in our worship. Is there a way to try something new every once in a while? What would this look like? Are we open to new ideas without giving up our heritage or compromising our core faith?

Siunattua toukokuuta teille jokaiselle!

Helluntai on tuossa ihan nurkan takana – on siis aika toivottaa kirkolle hauskaa syntymäpäivää! Saadaan itse kukin pukea punaista ylle! Tule Pyhä Henki – tule niin kuin tuuli ja inspiroi meitä uusiin tekoihin unohtamatta perinteitämme!

Helluntain jälkeisen ajan väri on vihreä – niin kuin uusi ruoho, niin kuin hiirenkorvilla vihertävät puut. Luonto puhkeaa kukkaan, herää jälleen henkiin talven jälkeen!

Onpa myös hyvä aika pohtia tätä meidän kirkkoa ja kuinka voimme tuoda uutta eloa, ei pelkästään näiden seinien sisälle, vaan myöskin tuonne ympäristöön.

Tässä muutama ajatus pohdittavaksi:

1. Nuorisotyö – meidän pitää tukea sekä nuoria että nuoria aikuisia.
2. Missio – tämä on tärkeä osa jokaista organisaatiota. Erityisesti kirkkona meidän on kysyttävä itseltämme ainakin kolme kysymystä nykypäivän yhteydessä: Keitä olemme? Keitä haluamme olla? Keitä palvelemme?
3. Jumalanpalvelustemme kirjavuus. Olisiko meillä mahdollisuus kokeilla jotain uutta, ainakin joskus? Miltähän tämä mahtaisi näyttää? Olemmeko avoimia kokeilemaan uusia tuulia luopumatta perinteistämme tai uskomme juurista?
